Our contributors highlight more shows at this year’s Fringe, including one-night-only shows at Shedinburgh’s new venue.

Mythos: Ragnarök

Part myth, part muscle, Mythos: Ragnarök, is created by writer, director and actor Ed Gamester combines historic Viking storytelling with high-octane professional wrestling.

Audiences are treated to a masterclass in chaos and combat as the remarkable adventures of Loki, Thor and legendary gods and monsters are brought to life in this spectacular adaptation of Norse mythology.

Audiences will be seated on all three sides of the wrestling ring,  creating the most immersive version of the show yet.

Shedinburgh: new venue featuring 28 one-night-only shows

Fringe favourites, household names and rising stars appear in a diverse line-up of theatre, comedy, performance art, live music, and talks in the specially created shed venue at The Wee Red Bar, Edinburgh College of Art.

Shed Shows include Jayde Adams who presents ‘How To Lose and Not Cry’ in which she is creating a wreath for someone she would rather not talk about; Mark Watson recalls past shows in ‘20 Years of Doing My Absolute Bloody Best’; and Ivo Graham performs his new show ‘Balloons’

Joanne Thomson appears in Jack in a Box which is focused on the failings of the justice system when it comes to sexual assault. Told through the eyes of Barbara, the receptionist, this is a rare insight into the farcical social agreement to suppress your trauma and keep going.  Think The Office meets Promising Young Woman.

Comedian and storyteller Marjolein Robertson delivers the rich and beautiful Shetland folk story The Hillswick Wedding.

The courtyard and venue is also open to the public from 12pm until late as a bar and café run by Fringe stalwarts Gilded Balloon. With food and drink provided by Wanderer’s Kneaded, Williamson & Johnson, Newbarns Brewery and Thistly Cross.
