Royal visit to Edinburgh
Prince Harry brought his bride-to-be Meghan Markle to Edinburgh for a whirlwind tour of the Scottish capital.
Ms Markle, dressed in a blue and green Burberry tartan coat and carrying a Strathberry bag, was making her first visit to Scotland and was the main object of attention.
Local residents, workers and tourists greeted the couple on the Castle Esplanade and in Rose Street where they visited a homeless charity.
After watching the firing of the traditional 1 o’clock gun from the castle ramparts they met Josh Littlejohn, owner of the Social Bite cafe in Rose Street.
They later attended a reception at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Social Bite raises funds to help end the blight of homelessness and the couple were the latest in a string of celebrity visitors who have included the actors George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio.
